Our Cabin is located in the Lake Almanor Country club, a gated community on the peninsula of Lake Almanor. The club offers a variety of activities for renters. Most visitors spend their time golfing on the nine hole course or visiting one of the two recreation centers, Rec. 1 and Rec. 2. Rec. 2 is on the north western side of the lake so it has a little more exposure to the wind, but the breakwaters erected this past summer keep the chop down so the kids can have a fun swim around the raft. Sand was recently added to the beach at Rec 2 . Rec. 1 is on the southern exposure of the lake, offering a view of the backside of Mt. Dyer. Rec. 1 has tennis, basketball, volleyball, a children's playground, swimming, a picnic area and a Band shell. On most summer nights Rec. 1 is filled with families enjoying the sounds of some local band, or the sounds of kids singing. Also the club provides summer activities for kids like sandcastle building and other fun lake activities. Our Cabin is located about 1/2 mile from Rec. 1 which is a short pleasant walk. If you go late make sure to bring a flashlight and keep an eye out for the raccoons and other nocturnal creatures. The location of the recreation areas is shown on this map. |
